ER Episode 15 Season 4 “Exodus”

This episode opens up with Dr. Corday taking an ambulance ride along to see what a regular day consists of for an EMT.  The first call is a major fire and Dr. Corday has to go into a small space to try and save a victim that is trapped under the debris.  This situation is getting very suspenseful as the camera cuts back into the ER.

When the camera cuts back to the Emergency Room another sign of the times is shown.  Dr Weaver is buying a coffee and the cashier says 60 cents which is a lot cheaper than a regular coffee would be today.

After this scene the camera goes back to Dr. Corday.  At this time they need to raise the debris an inch or two off of the victim in order to get him out without having to amputate his arm.  Dr. Corday refuses to leave the victim, even after the fire department gives an order to get out.  Dr. Corday stays and eventually gets the victim out alive.

The major part of this episode was the chemical spill that brought patients in with toxic solvents on them.  When this happens Dr. Weaver passes out from a reaction to these solvents and Dr. Carter is the only one left to takeover the ER in this emergency situation.  He moves all patients to the cafeteria to get away from the spill.  During this time Dr. Carter takes complete control of the situation and really steps up to the plate when they needed him.  My favorite part of this episode was watching Dr. Carter mature before the audiences eyes.  In this episode he made executive decisions, and made them correct and saved many lives, which was why this part was my favorite.

I rate this episode a 5 because of the completeness of the episode, and mainly because of Dr. Carter taking control.
