ER Episode 20 Season 4 “Of Past Regret and Future Fear”

This episode opens up with Nurse Hathaway and Dr. Ross having Hathaway’s mom over for brunch.  The surprise is she brings a guest that nobody knew was coming.  This comes as a shock to Nurse Hathaway and turns her off.

Dr. Carter is first pictured in this episode when he goes to visit his cousin in the rehab center.  While there the doctor tells him that his cousin has lost almost all function on his left side.  Dr. Carter does not believe this and has to find out the hard way by asking him to write with his left hand.

The first major trauma case is a man brought in with chemical burns all over his body.  The amount of burns he has are very toxic and are fatal.  The worst part about this is his daughter and wife who he has not seen in years refuse to come see him, because he has been out of their life for so long.

A second humorous part that was my favorite part of the episode is when Dr. Romano takes Dr. Corday out for lunch and asks her out on a date, and is turned down.  This becomes a very awkward situation for Dr. Romano who rarely aver finds himself in these situations.

Dr. Ross has the final major part of the episode.  This case consists of a methadone addict that comes in with her baby who is also addicted to methadone now because of his mothers addiction.  Dr. Ross doesnt know what to do with this case but knows he has to make a decision quickly that will help both the mother and child get away from drugs.

This episode I rate a 4 only because the trauma cases werent as urgent as possible or as frequently reoccurring but overall it was a good episode.
